The comfortable and well-equipped Lincoln MKX returns for 2018, and is fully redesigned. Its strengths include a strong and turbocharged V6 engine, value for money, comfortable ride quality, and a spacious rear seating.
When the vehicle first debuted eight years ago, we are on record having advised buyers to first consider buying other alternatives. This was necessitated by the fact that the vehicle was subpar when it came to the overall cabin materials, and driving character. Also, methinks that the automaker unnecessarily shared more with the plebeian Edge. And despite the changes made in the years that followed, the first impression still remained throughout its production streak.
However, the new 2018 Lincoln MKX is good enough to soften our stance, as it has been fully redesigned inside out. Still, it shares much with Ford’s Edge which also underwent a radical surgery last year. so, on top of the redesigns for 2018, the vehicle will still benefit from the signifant changes made on the new platform.
Indeed, the vehicle comes with upscale features including 19-speaker Revel Ultima sound system, 22-way front seats, and top-notch cabin materials. Additionally, under the hood, buyers should expect a robust 2.7L V6 engine that offers respectable fuel economy ratings as well as 335 horsepower, while the adaptive suspension system ups the driver control ante and offers a smooth ride.
Sadly, the MKX still comes with some few downsides to the advantage of its chief rivals. For instance, Lincoln has still made the outdated MyLincoln Touch Interface available for the 2018 model. Fortunately, though, buyers have lots of other alternatives to choose from. They include 2018 Acura MDX, Lexus RX 350, 2018 BMW X5, and the all-new 2018 Mercedes GLE.
