Once again, Lincoln Motor Company heralds the return of the 2018 Lincoln Continental – a serene, effortlessly powerful, elegant, and luxury full-size sedan. The new model offers a first-class travel for clients in China and America by bringing a contemporary design, and warm, human touches. Again, with a 400-horsepower engine behemoth beneath its hood, and a rich, spacious, and cozy cabin, the 2018 Lincoln is without a doubt poised to top the full-size luxury sedan segment. Its release date has been set for early 2018. Read on for more news!
Under the hood will be a powerful twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine rated at 400 horsepower and 400 lbs. ft. of torque. This was the same powertrain that was featured in the Lincoln Continental Concept. Some fans were however hoping for a V8, but it apparently seems they’ll have to get used to the idea of future Lincoln models getting a V6 beneath their hoods, even with other Lincoln models such as the Navigator.
For confident handling and stability, the engine comes paired to an AWD system with a Dynamic Torque Vectoring system. With this combination, the drive quality is quiet, smooth, and responsive to say the least. Although unconfirmed, rumors allege the transmission shifting will be done by the nine-speed automatic.
“With the new 2018 Lincoln Continental, our clients get a more tailored experience – providing what we call serene luxury. As Lincoln, we strive to stay focused on being the true embodiment of beauty and luxury as evidenced by the new Continental, said Kumar Galhotra – president of Lincoln.
The exterior and interior designs have been replenished. It comes with a dynamic and progressive athletic exterior profile. The interior, on the other hand, is designed to help all occupants rejuvenate. One notable feature that you’ll find in the cabin is perhaps the 30-way Perfect Position Seats. This feature enables occupants to get optimal comfort and stretch by adjusting to an individual’s body shape and weight. These seats also feature heating and cooling, massaging functions, and thing support.
On pricing alone, the 2018 Lincoln Continental finds itself in a segment already awash with formidable and entrenched rivals. The 2018 Audi A6 and the 2016 BMW 5 Series boasts of an exhilarating performance and well-appointed cabins. The 2018 Lexus GS 350 is a great option for anyone seeking a sophisticated interior and sublime ride quality, while the 2018 Cadillac CTS makes for a great choice when it comes to excellent handling and sharp style.

Just like the Concept, the production model sports the same elegant stance and subtle design. Up front, the headlights and grille have slightly been revised relative to the Concept. Beneath, the bumper gets larger air inlets by ditching the slender ones. In fact, I’d say, the larger air vents are an enhancement to the concept if you ask me.
Those who were keen about the stripe details on the Concept car will immediately notice that they’re missing from the production model. According to Lincoln, this was because they wanted to obtain a more homogenous appearance.
Around back, every detail was almost reworked. While the Concept featured a lid that opened just above the taillights, the production model got a conventional trunk lid that stretches all the way to the bumper. The taillights too are different as they feature a new cluster layout and are significantly larger.
Dimensions are unchanged however.
2018 Lincoln Continental Interior Pics
While some might argue that the exterior of the actual car lost some pizzazz from the concept, the interior arguably mirrors its moniker. Inside, you’ll get opulent materials such as aluminum appliques or genuine wood, unique stitching, leather seating, and leather-wrapped instrument and console. Those seeking even higher levels of Lincoln luxury can opt for the 2018 Lincoln Continental Black Label Edition that features three designer themes: Rhapsody, Thoroughbred, and Chalet.
As previously mentioned, four trims are available for the new 2018 Lincoln Continental: Select, Premiere, Reserve, and Black Label. The Continental Convertible review is offered separately, as is the Town Car.
