2018 Lexus RX 350 review – Launched in 1998, the Lexus RX 350 has continuously evolved over the years to offer buyers an attractive, elegant package. For 2018, the new model aims to take things a notch higher by providing buyers an even more alluring package. According to rumors and spy pics, it seems Lexus has combined a mix of even sharper curves and creases expected to impact positively on the aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle. Although its pricing estimates and release date details are still under wraps the last time we checked, the following review will try as much as possible in trying to demystify some of the rumors going round.
Just like before, Lexus has put more emphasis on making the new model achieve a carlike driving experience. Some of the features that will continue into the new model include a strong value, appealing ride and handling balance, and an impeccably crafted and attractively designed cabin. Despite the camouflage, our keen spy photographers were still able to get one or two details.
Up front, the new model still features a triple L-shaped LED headlamps, a chrome-plated border, and a spindle grille. The Bi-LED headlight is provided by default. While ensuring optimal forward visibility during nighttime, the Intelligent High Beam also has an inbuilt feature that allows it adjust accordingly when another vehicle is approaching.
The same design scheme up front, carries around back, proving a high level of aesthetic consistency and balance to the vehicle’s overall persona. It gets a powerful and wide stance through the combination of the L-shaped taillights that wraparound the rear fender sections. Other exterior features you should be in the lookout for include convenient door handle illumination, redesigned SmartAccess door handles, solid roof rails, a panoramic moonroof design, and flush-fitting headlight washers.
Just like the exterior, the interior is also a design masterpiece. There’s an impeccable balance between opulence and functionality. For 2018, buyers of the new model should expect a slew of enhancements such as new interior trims, advanced technologies, and better material quality. Rumors allege the new trims will include Striated Black Trim, Matte Linear Dark Mocha Wood, and Expresso Walnut.
Also for 2018, there’s the 2018 Lexus RX F Sport model that is designed specifically for those looking to add some performance oomph over their regular RX’s. What sets it apart from the rest is perhaps the number of performance, and special visual features that it offers. Its steering and handling are also top notch. The full Lexus RX F Sport review is covered exhaustively elsewhere.
Although there might be some couple of reasons to make anyone rethink their choice, the 2018 Lexus RX 350 offers a welcome dose of modernity and excitement while still managing to remain at the top of the quality and comfort spectrum. Rivals you should also check out include the Volkswagen Touareg, Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, BMW X5, and the Volvo XC90.
2018 Lexus RX 350 Release Date & Price
Both details are unknown at the moment, however, rumors allege it will go for sale for an MSRP starting from $52,000. Its release date, on the other hand, should be expected sometime in the latter half of 2018. The details are however speculative at the moment.
2018 Lexus RX 350 Exterior
As already mentioned, the exterior design of the new model is characterized by an emboldened version of the Lexus brand’s signature spindle grille, Bi-LED headlights, and a large air intake compartment. Some of the features you should expect include a rear privacy glass, 18-inch wheels, LED foglights, automatic LED headlights, and 20-inch wheels and a sportier exterior styling for the F sport.
Dimensions and exterior colors remain the same, at least from what we hear.
2018 Lexus RX 350 Interior
Just like the immediate model it is replacing, it is more carlike thanks to the driver-focused dashboard and lower seating position. Although some might find it claustrophobic than its predecessors, there’s plenty of headroom in spite of the raked roof line.
