With intricate balance of performance, power, and style, the new Jaguar XE for 2018 aims to destabilize established players among small luxury sport sedans.
Some of the new defining attributes for the new XE include an easy-to-use driver interface, a forgiving ride, fuel-efficient diesel and exhilarating V6 engines, a dedicated platform, and a lightweight body. Its release date is set for this year’s spring.
Jaguar has made a compelling comeback across the luxury spectrum under the new ownership. Back to the XE, with the new equipment and technological advancements promised to be showcased by the model, it will therefore be catapulted to the sport-luxury sedan top leadership. The segment offers performance-and luxury themed models such as the 2018 BMW 3 Series, and the 2018 Audi A4.
Once released though, the XE will step into a ruthless and well-established segment that offers supercar-grade models. For example, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the 2018 BMW 3 Series set the overall benchmark for build quality, dynamic performance, and luxury in this class. Also, Audi’s S4 and A4 offer an equally competitive performance package.
Despite Japanese brands lacking the distinction of their European counterparts, the Lexus IS 250, and Infiniti Q50 offer premium appointments and materials.

Exterior Changes & Interior Pictures – 2018 Jaguar XE
The 2018 “baby jag” is a five-passenger luxury sport sedan that is powered by a either an all-new four cylinder diesel or a high-performance V6 engine. Also, Jaguar says that the XE will come riding on an all-new chassis.
Interior wise, buyers should expect a minimalist, clean function presently found in the Mercedes-Benz and Audi cabins. The cabin will come with plenty of suede and leather to cover the panels, key touch panels, and seats, with aluminum, wood veneer, and gloss black accents.
Anchored by an 8” touchscreen display, the center stack presents a nonsense affair for navigation, entertainment, a ubiquitous rotary gear selector, and Jag’s row of conventional buttons for climate control.
Also, the InControl multimedia system from Jaguar promises a faster response time and richer graphics, both of which are welcome upgrades to Jaguar’s sophistication and ancient inexplicable feel and appeal.
Other equipment and technological conveniences include a Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a navigation system, premium Meridian audio system, smartphone app integration, a heads-up display, cruise control, adaptive xenon headlights, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, climate control (tri-zone), and unique interior accents.
The XE also offers a slew of some of the latest safety features and driver aides. Unfortunately Jaguar has decided to keep us in the dark for now and no one really knows what safety features are install for the 2018 XE. Nevertheless, our sources privy to Jaguar’s operations have indicated that among other safety features to expect, we should at least look forward to an autonomous emergency braking, forward collision alert, rear cross traffic alert, semi-automated parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system, lane-departure warning system, and a blind-spot monitoring system.
Engine Specs – 2018 Jaguar XE
As already mentioned, the “baby Jag” will come with two trims each with a different engine. The 2018 Jaguar XE 35t comes fitted with a 3.0L supercharged V6 engine rated at 340 hp and 332 pounds of torque.
It will come with the same combination as that of the F-Type: an eight-speed auto transmission system with paddle shifters.
According to Jaguar, the 35t sauntered from 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds and achieved 155 mph top speed.
Next up is the 2018 Jaguar XE 20d trim that employs a turbodiesel 2.0L four-cylinder engine good for 180 horsepower and 318 pounds of torque. An eight-speed transmission is also the default transmission system.
A RWD will be the standard drive mode for both trims, although buyers have the option of an AWD.
It is still too early to speculate about the EPA ratings for either model, but pundits argue that we should expect an impressive rating of about 37 mpg/combined.
Price 2018 Jaguar XE Release Date
We should expect the new 2018 Jaguar XE during this spring at least for U.S dealerships. As for the price, expect the XE Diesel to go for sale for an MSRP starting from $36,400, and $34,900 for the XE Sedan.
