Big, bad, bold is what defines the new Ford F-150 for 2018 when you take it to run across the desert or climb mountains at full throttle. It comes boasting of an upgraded suspension system, and a new V6 engine that replaces the existing V8 engine. According to rumors, the new F-150 is set to go on sale this fall.
New add-ons for 2018 include an upgraded suspension system, a new engine, a new frame, and a comprehensive redesign of the existing model. For starters, the Ford F-150 model is undoubtedly the best-selling truck in the U.S. It has managed to outsell everything else on the road for years unending due to its versatility, off-road performance, utility, amenities, comfort, and fuel economy. That isn’t precisely news for a majority of American buyers who are the biggest fans of the truck. The F-150 is the perfect definition of what a truck ought to be.
Nowadays, buyers are looking for a truck that requires a more extreme approach, something that flatten cacti at 80 mph and can hop boulders. For buyers looking for such capabilities, the fresh 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor should be a top their list of priorities.
The Raptor, entering its second generation, will feature a twin turbocharged V6 engine, aluminum body panels, and an all-new frame. According to Ford, the new frame will be more solid than any other model’s in the F-150 lineup. Also, it will be 6” wider than the base model, and will feature a new terrain management system and more suspension travel.
However, that is not to say that the fresh 2018 Ford F-150 won’t have any downsides. Some of the faults include limited visibility, only the short bed configuration will be offered just like in the existing model, and the Raptor is a specialized instrument.
Ford F-150 – Available Trims
According to the latest news, Ford has only shown us the Raptor in extended cab style. However, we expect the existing lineup to continue unaltered to the 2018 model year. That said, we should expect up to five trims: base XL, mid-trimsXLT, Lariat and King Ranch, and top-rated Platinum. The 2016 Shelby Baja 700 is reviewed separately.
